We have been trying all sorts of new solids this past month. Wyatt has had sweet potatoes, squash carrots, peas, green beans, apples, bananas and pears. He’s definitely more of a “sweet” baby and prefers the fruits and orange vegetables. The greens, not so much. And he is definitely not a fan of Gerber squash. See below:
The funny thing is, when we’ve given him the Hy-Vee brand squash, he’s gobbled it up. Perhaps they use a different type of squash? Who knows!
Wyatt now can sit up on his own unsupported. Of course, he does tend to fall on his side if he tilts too much or pulls on an unstable toy! It’s fun to watch him and he loves playing while sitting up much better than lying down. Who can blame him? He also (as of today) has started cutting his second tooth! For the last week or two I’ve been convinced that it would break through any day, and now it looks (and feels) like it finally is! So now we have to be careful when we let him teethe on our fingers..those little chompers can hurt!
Last month I also had my first weekend away from Wyatt, as my mom and I went to Denver for my cousin’s bridal shower. Keith and Wyatt hung out at home, and Keith’s parents even came down to visit and help him out. I missed him a lot but I have to admit, it was kind of nice to get away for a few days! Sadly, I still found myself getting up as early as I do at home with him…I’ve been told that’s what happens once you have a kid!

Look at him, he's getting so big! It's like a new world once they can sit up and do things unassisted. Happy 7 months!
